Our mission statement:
The organization for political liberation through education, or the PLE, seeks to organize and combat social ills present in our society by allowing individuals to organize and engage in active discussions about politics in an educational manner. The founder of the group, Cuban American self described Anarchist Pablo Valenzuela, began it as a way to combat the social chauvinism that is present in many of today's spaces in America. The party is open for all individuals to join and is not an exclusive organization. The organization is not apolitical; rather, it is hyperpolitical. It stands to mobilize and utilize different political frameworks and apply praxis to them while opening discussion to these ideals. The party, however, while opening discussion for members, will not tolerate the extension of harmful and violent ideals. As a collective organization, our goal is to blend three things: culture, politics, and mutual aid. We seek to have our meetings be an open collection of these three things, a coalition of spaces in which members will be able to showcase art, literature, and any form of expression without judgment but with allowance for discussion and critique, a place for members to engage in political discussion and debate; and a place for memebers to participate in mutual aid networks. Members will also participate in pre-existing organizations of mutual aid networks. The PLE seeks not to overpower these but to provide a space for mutual aid networks to connect. Finally, the PLE will provide a space for discussions and debates on politics to occur. A key tenet of the PLE is that no member should feel ostracized for their political values unless they are contingent on hatred (i.e. Nazism, alt-right values, and white nationalism). Conservatives and liberals, as well as members of all political parties, should feel encouraged to join and engage in discussion with members of the party and engage in service work with the party. Membership will always remain free. Fees should only be collected if necessary to begin or start a chapter and pay for the space; however, the PLE strongly encourages the utilization of fundraising for any monetary-based necessities.
